Quickly bring out the finest robe we have and put it on him. Place a ring on his finger and sandals on his feet. Then bring the fatted calf and kill it, and let us celebrate with a feast. For this son of mine was dead and has come back to life. He was lost, and now he has been found.\u2019 And they began to celebrate.’ – This is the Gospel of St. Luke chapter 15 Parable of the Prodigal Son. The son returns.

\u00a0I will admit that when I meet a person who meets God and I want to return to Him and he goes to confession, sometimes it is a difficult moment. You have to prepare, and sometimes time is short.

There was such a meeting, a big retreat, and a man says to me – I have not been 30 years to confession, how do I do it – he asks me.\u00a0– Wait, wait, – I reply – We will find you a suitable priest and you will also say that you have not been for so long and now want to return to the Father’s house.\u00a0 I will now pray for you and ask many people to pray for you now.\u00a0 The priest was found and the man, both of them moved, and prepared went to confession. When he walked away from this confession, his face brightened, he started jumping!\u00a0 I reached him and asked – And how was it? And he shouts with joy – I received absolution!

We all started jumping. People standing, next to him, who were praying for him started jumping in the hall! How many people jumped for joy, because this son was found! We started jumping and praising God for his confession!\u00a0\u00a0Did you ever rejoice so much for someone’s confession? It was 30 years without God!!!

Another person. I’ve met a man who spent the night on the street, someone brought him to church, we prayed, there was an adoration. The man is preparing for confession and goes. When he came back from it, I say to him – You know what? I’ll give you a cake, I’ll bake you a yeast cake especially for you, so that you can celebrate this moment, to remember it, this confession after 40 years. You’ll treat yourself together with your colleagues. It’s on this occasion that we will celebrate!

The man got coffee and two trays of freshly baked homemade yeast cakes so that he could share with everyone at the homeless shelter! So that he can celebrate this moment of coming to God the Father.

A woman comes in full of anxiety. She wants to change her life. Someone called me, and a homeless woman comes to the church with all her belongings, two bags, she has nothing to live on. She comes to the church wants to confess. We go first to adoration, and find a priest. She says – See? It’s all but impossible, I wanted to confess, and the priest is already there. On a piece of paper she has written down everything she wanted to confess to God in confession, She is prepared. She goes to confession, I pray for her. When she comes out her face brightens. We go in front of the altar and start praying. She is beaming all over. We start praying in tongues. She asks – What is this prayer? – It’s a prayer with angels – and she immediately knows what it’s about. She also starts praying and singing. Later, with all her belongings, that is, these two bags, we go to the train station and she gets on a train to start a new life.

Another man is standing in the square, people are turning around, and he shouts loudly – This confession I will not forget for the rest of my life, it changed my life!

Have you ever been so happy and shouted such things in the square between people? Were you so happy about your confession?\u00a0

A young homeless boy comes out of confession and says out loud in church – I heard, the priest told me. JESUS is my Best Friend! JESUS is my Best Friend. – He says this with such joy and such conviction like he has just met Him in this sacrament of confession. He sits down in the pew, we sit together side by side in the church, and in a moment there will be a Mass. And he keeps repeating in the pew – JESUS is my Greatest Friend, the Best!\u00a0So many years I have not been to confession! In a moment Mass begins and the organist begins to play Barka, the Lord once stood on the river bank, and the boy says:

– How did he know? It’s a gift! This is my favorite song. Do you remember how we prayed together by the dumpster and sang it? JESUS is my Best Friend, after all HE knows it all.

\u00a0What a joy it is to be able to rejoice like that, to be able to bake that cake and rejoice at every confession. Rejoice with someone when they go to confession after so many years, when they return to DAD. Make a feast, bake something, take a leap, go for a good cake, buy a cake, do something that this person may never have experienced. Have a feast!\u00a0 Have fun and enjoy! Because this son was dead and came to life, lost and found. Such joy! You have to experience it together. May JESUS be glorified in all those who can experience this.\u00a0

May JESUS be glorified for this joy! Be glorified, Lord, in all those who will read this, and in those who will rejoice in every Confession and every person they bring to Confession and celebrate together afterwards. Be glorified Lord May there be much rejoicing over this. Amen\u00a0
